    Default quick help please (+29)

    i've had issues with tonsillitis for years (i have a terrible immune system) and well a bout is coming on right about now, i have a fever, my throat is swollen, my glands are massive and my head feels about as heavy as anything.

    i don't have any ibuprofen or anything til tomorrow when the shop opens, has anyone got any quick fix remedies that will (if not let me just sleep til tomorrow morning) numb my throat a little bit so i can sleep?

    thanks guys x

    Sounds awful. I have no idea if theres any alternate medication you could take, but you could try eating something really cold to numb your throat? It worked for me when I had tonsillitis and made it more bearable.

    had a look around and apart from the salt gargle, the only thing i can find that you *may* have is liquorish, which when sucked on helps with inflammation. all the other home remedies are pretty far out :{

    edit found some more: hot drinks help too, have some milky tea and the milk in the tea should leave a coating on your tonsils so they don't get as irritated when you swallow

    I'm sure I once heard a shot or rum or maybe whisky helps, not sure though so don't take my word for it lmao

    shot of alcohol apparently fixes this sort of stuff?

    lemon with honey and hot water helps. << that's the best one and don't drink alcohol. it'll make you worse, trust me. hmm other than that, sun dried tangerine peel with hot water which is actly a chinese medicine helps me a lot. dunno bout you. and if the doctor gave you pharynx lozenges, just forget about numbing your throat. lozenges rarely helps. they are useless, really!
