Well that's a load of rubbish straight out of the horses backside in my opinion, do you seriously not know how many people give -rep saying stuff like, "I don't like you" , or "I'm -repping you cause you are ..." etc, people with high rep power are always -repping people with low rep power to stop them getting up, plenty of examples of people who suffer from that if you ask around.

But some people do get targeted and -repped all the time totally pointlessly, and getting it removed it only temporary seeing as more will be on its way very soon?

Then when you report the rep, tell them that it's a common problem and they are targeting you. How would we know that it's continuing to happen without you letting us know.

people will only be 'targetted' by a lot of users if theyve made a bunch of stupid posts. if it bothers you so much then just disable rep

No i had a good reason for that, you were taking the piss out of the speed dating event sam did, and i know for a fact she worked very hard on that and recieved tons of abuse for it, and it's not fair in the slightest to give her further abuse for it, after all it actually worked quite well tbh.

In all honesty, if you take reputation that serious on this forum then you really need to think again. Why do you need high reputation, why do you worry that you might never reach a certain number?

All minus reps are given as an opinion, so by your logic they should remain in place. -rep for pointless posting/post count, is valid IMO.

yes. -rep for pointless posting is even stated in the FAQ as valid

Sorry but is that meant to be some kind of insult? Coming from someone whos always sticking up for their department and just assuming they are always right about everything, that is really quite rich, just because catzy and chris have left doesn't mean you need to now become the new power hungry smod who just assumes that everything that their depart does is correct and shouldn't be questioned. Just consider how on earth it is fair that people can just -rep people they dislike with no valid reason, surely it's them who are taking the reputation too seriously anyway not the people reporting it.

+ @Kasabian; no cause he was actually being rude to someone? Pretty sure forum rules state that you aren't meant to be rude to other staff and put down stuff they do without valid reason ....
