My ideas for habbo = compulsory filter for under 16s, better moderation, filter room names such as 'sexy singles' etc from under 16s screens, after a while of the new 'helpers' system, give the most trusted/best helpers extra powers such as the ability to mute people. When a new user signs up send them through a compulsory on-screen process telling them not to ask for or give away personal info and not to engage in inappropriate chat or else they will be banned. Focus on gaming and fun things more, snow storm and other games to have games for beginners only so it is easier and more fun for new players. Helpers and other players on habbo to also try and help the situation.

Just reading some of the reports annoys me, have a sore face for the ammount of times i've palmed it.

Sulake - Is to blame for bad moderation. And the whole hotel mute is petty and shows they can't handle pressure.

Kids "Victims" - Are to blame for not following the habbo way and not having common sense (and if there under 13, following the rules). You can block, delete, kick and report if you dont do any of these then you shouldn't be playing for not having any sense.

Parents - They can point the finger and blame who ever they like but in the end its there responsability and the fault lies with them. Habbo has set rules if the parents allow there kids to break the rules by allowing there "children" sign up despite it being advertised for teenagers and the rules stating an age limit then they have to accept the blame.

Game/Tesco/WHS/Investers - Cowards. Mainly because there input could have helped Sulake a bit on there side of things meaning theres rules and the parents are the ones who allow these rules to be broken. And at the same time other online games and social media are worse or have the same problems so why isnt the press attacking them.

Channel 4 - Bias reporting, Knew there was a reason i never watched news on your channel.

I don't really care if habbo were to close im just fed up of this country being to politicaly correct, being soft, trying to pin blame on someone when something goes wrong and bad reporting.

End of the day, Its the parents fault. and if there over 13 then the persons fault for having no common sense.

Firstly, an investor gives money on the hope to make a profit. The company is there to keep them happy, clearly they have failed.

Secondly, Tesco, Game etc do not want to be associated with paedophilia, so it is a sensible move to stop selling their cards - at least temporarily - as they don't want to be seen as supporters of paedophilia.

Thirdly, Channel 4 like every other media outlet is bias, as people want to read that. People love a bit of madness and shock stories, hence why everything in the daily fail uses masses of superlatives for attention.

I honestly see Habbo going to close after all of this and then the investors pulling out.

I understand that but still majority of the blame doesn't fall to habbo/sulake its the parents imo but by everyone pulling out its as if there siding with the press.

True i remember Daily mail reporting on an anime/manga thing and when they said what it is they made it sound like people who watch anime are dirty perverted paedos =/

Also have the point of if all this was happening why didn't they alert the police about it instead of making a story out of it. Thats right they only care about views.

There is still nothing that says Sulake won't overcome this and go back to making money. I don't know why these investors pulled out (c wat I did there), maybe they have some information we don't, but I don't see Habbo dying any time soon as with the social gaming boom keeps raging on.

If the European Commisson ruled for it to close.. it would be forced to close.

The Commision was basically coerced by the reporter into saying that. I don' t think its realistic at all that they would close down a service, or that Sulake would even let it fall to that.

I've been playing Habbo since 2004 and some Habbo's have joined before that and some around the same time, and obviously after that too. But my my experience on the game, you are just as vulnerable as you let yourself be.

If you're young, you can be easily manipulated into talking to strangers and them forcing feelings into you, which affects you in real life.

I feel in this day and age, theres enough educaton out there or just general knowledge of what people talk about that children think it is 'weird' to talk to those that flirt with you online in a more extreme way than kissing booths.

When I was younger, it was common sense not to give my phone number out, or email I used for Habbo, where I lived or any personal details about me. I suppose that was becase I was educated about it. I remember being told by a friend to always say P/P/P and we kind of made a joke out of it. (personal/personal/personal) as it often annoyed other users who asked, and we found this funny whilst at the same time keeping out details safe.

I don't think one program, which targeted Habbo for the bad side it has seen can bring it down. I didn't watch the program or news article or whatever it was, but I doubt they spoke about the positives in Habbo? Theres many positives and if you don't get involved in those who wish to obtain your personal information, we all know it's very fun. It depends where you go on Habbo really. You don't tend to find these 'paedophiles' in Arcades, or gaming rooms as they are too active for people to have big convosations. You usually find them in quieter rooms, or the welcome lounge as they will target new, young Habbo's.

I spend a lot of my time in the Welcome Lounge, as I'd like to help and report anyone who is asking for personal details because I think it's absolutely revolting that they could be some kind of paedophile. If the two people are genuine with each other, you keep it genuine but online - just to be safe.

A lot can be said on this subject, but it's too early for me. Maybe someone will have a reply to this and we can talk.
