Thanks! I've been here for years reading the posts, but when the mute happened I decided I needed my voice to be heard and to air my opinions.

And to the poster above me, yes, I'm sure the moderators will be much more vigilant now. As I said, they have to be for Habbo to survive. Other features will help though; educating the younger users for a start and removing (or modifying) certain pieces of furni, such as the Kissing Booth and a zero tolerance on rooms encouraging situations which could lead to these problems (such as sexy singles) will certainly help. Also, the helper tool will help, as it frees up the mods to deal with the serious issues instead of just answering basic questions.

    oh there's more.
oh well, it sounds impressive whatever it is.
Too little too late, his whole attitude is pretty stupid in a CEO point of view. He shouldn't need to take a fresh look at safety, he should of been keeping Habbo in order the moment he stepped into the CEO position. What the heck has he been doing since September? Bigging up his twitter ego? He's not a CEO, he's a public relations officer. He has no qualities of a CEO.

Also, I'm interested in what they're going to do with the moderators. If they're still inactive on Habbo surely it's going to fail again? They need moderators who are active in the hotel, not pushing buttons in a system being distant and unaccountable.

Yep, it's crazy. The first time I got it, it let me send another after a minute or so. The second time, it wasn't so lenient! The stupid thing is that they said "the call for help is only for emergency help or account issues". Then when I tell them my account issue, they refer me to the help tool which is of zero help too (as they just told me to read the FAQs ). Absolutely ridiculous.

urgh when will the guys at sulake see that their moderating system is so pants. You would think with this resent thing with C4 etc, they would hire people that can read English at a proficiency of a minimum of IELTS (International English Language Testing System) band 6.0. If they did that the Hotel would be a better place foreveryone and perhaps clear up all them unfair warnings and bans.

P.s. Just the other day I got warned for Bullying... I have no idea how I was bullying, all I was doing was 'boosting'.. LOL and we can't even chat lmao.

New article on the Sulake site:

Response to the Great Unmute and a New Era of ‘Protected Democracy’ for Habbo Hotel

The initial response to The Great Unmute was much larger than we could have predicted and it took some time to deploy additional servers to get the site running smoothly. We received a high number of submissions over the six hour period, many of which are still being moderated. This was always intended to be a forum for legitimate users and – although we will not be moderating the main site in the same way – the blocking of inappropriate conversations is a sign of things to come for Habbo.

We are continuing to upload content and will share with the world more than 10,000 thoughtful, balanced opinions from our responsible users. My team and I are reading them all and encourage parents and anyone else involved or concerned to do the same.

The teens and young people who inhabit our site have spoken in a mature, united and compelling voice. They have articulated the practical and personal benefits of a virtual community for a demographic full of young people still discovering themselves and their place in the real world.

The content generated by The Great Unmute will inform and direct my long term plan for the Habbo community, already in advanced draft form. When I finally allow the online community to speak again, it will be an era of ‘Protected Democracy’. By that, I mean a regulated environment that protects the free speech, as well as the safety and interests, of the legitimate user community. I understand these interests better because of The Great Unmute.

Protected Democracy is a new concept that we are pioneering in a poorly regulated social gaming industry. It can only be realised through a mix of technology, moderation, education and engagement. This is a complex combination that cannot be achieved in a single step. That is why I will turn the Habbo site back on in phases, focusing on specific markets to test the new technology. Before then I will be carrying out live tests (beginning in Finland today), to ensure our new systems are delivering the improved safety levels we anticipate.

The first phases of the Great Go-Live will commence early next week. At that point I will come back again and explain how site safety has already been improved as well as our long term plans to deliver a sustainable future for this valuable and valued online global community.
