Not to mention, the ******ed official stood behind the goal should have pressed the *+*magical button*+* on his wand to alert the referee. If he hasn't seen that's gone over the line, he should be dropped to the lowest division of his country. Appalling decision.

I totally agree with the posts above. They are there to help with big decisions like those last night. They are supposed to be the ones with the best views of the penalty box.

He did look as if he was in position to see the ball cross the line, but obviously he's not good enough at his job to see this <- get him demoted and away from the Euro's.

On the plus side - it made it better for England

Agreed! Can't wait for England and Italy going town to watch it.

Just come back and seen those comments about the ref. Please give me a break, i'm sick of the same arguments. If you were stood there you would see how hard it is to judge in that moment whether it had crossed the line. It was only marginal, not lik the Lampard on in SA and in those situations he has to be 100% sure and the BOTD is given to the defenses, as it should be in penalties too.

Yes I believe now it is 100% for goal like technology, like I have done before the game, however I don't think it was that mans fault in that it was human error and a tough call.

It was always going to happen again, just a matter of when, also in my opinion the refereeing has been on a whole good this tournament.

true, there are going to be human errors at times, but something should be done about it to help with decisions like this a.s.a.p

This guy has done YEARS of training and has loads of experience. Only those judged to be the best from each league are sent who has European experience as well in the CL. Please don't even pretend you could have done a better job, it's easy to ref from the sofa where you have time and no pressure. There were 40,000 Ukrainians supports in there all screaming for a goal. It wasn't taken lightly and if the actual ref or any of the linesmen had also thought it went over they could have overruled. But none of that happened and as is still the man was offside anyway, clearly so maybe the linesman was more to blame? And they wouldn't have gone though anyway as it stood.

Yeah Blatter has come out and, whereas before he was a little skeptical and hesitant about introducing it, now he's adamant it must happen ASAP. In some games at the Euro's and practices it is being tested actually, and this was before this incident.
