Leaving after my first (foundation) year for an IT apprenticeship at BT!They'll pay me to do a foundation degree, with a guaranteed job at the end, +10% pay every year (on top of bonuses and other pay increases) and all sorts of other benefits... really looking forward to it. The experience will be invaluable to me in the future.

So you're leaving uni, for an IT apprenticeship, then they'll pay for you to do a different course at uni with a job at the end of it? Sorry just trying to understand what you mean ;p Did you need A levels to get onto the apprenticeship 'cause I'm looking into doing A levels or an apprenticeship atmLeaving after my first (foundation) year for an IT apprenticeship at BT!They'll pay me to do a foundation degree, with a guaranteed job at the end, +10% pay every year (on top of bonuses and other pay increases) and all sorts of other benefits... really looking forward to it. Also if I got it right what course was it you were doing before you left?
Computer Science! If I want a job after my undergraduate I'm definitely going to have to head to Ontario or the States, though.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
Does going as a mature student change anything/what's classed as an adult since I'll be doing my A levels come september and I'll be finnishing them at 20.I'm hoping to go to university as a mature student (age 21 going on 22) in 2014 after an Access course, which is a fair while away, I would've went at 18 but my education/life's been a bit of a mess since leaving school. Thinking of either the Biological Sciences or Law. I'm gonna try for a good uni as well, not Oxbridge, but a Russell Group/1994 group uni. If you're paying £9k p/a for tuition fees you may as well go the best place you can (at least that's the way I see it)![]()
Doesn't change a thing. I'm 19 atm and will be 20 by the time I start uni. Many of my college friends are 19-25 and they also will be starting and I know a lot of people who are over 19 and are at uni. I wouldn't worry about itc![]()
I was doing Computer Science. BT do two levels of apprenticeships, lower and higher. Higher apprenticeships need A Levels to get onto and will give you a foundation degree at the end of it in a course related to your apprenticeship (so you'd have to top up to a full degree in your own time, if you wanted)... if you meet all your targets you get a job at the end of it too.So you're leaving uni, for an IT apprenticeship, then they'll pay for you to do a different course at uni with a job at the end of it? The guaranteed job, the fact I'm being paid to do most of a degree and the experience I'll get was more than enough to convince me to drop Uni![]()
