Has anyone read this thread and felt like a forum forever alone?

Not paticularly, I see myself as self reliant but also do not open to many. Should I open myself to someone and they open themself up to me, then I would consider them close. That's essentially what I thought anyway. I'd rather not kid myself in that I'm close to people just to appear popular.

When someone asks if I am close to someone, I don't think as someone I've talked to over a period of time, for example. I think of someone that firstly knows a bit more of myself than everyone else, and that I stay in contact with and talk to them a lot about a bit of everything.
