If it's not that, probably just pure curiosity. The "post Areas" function isn't really necessary either, but it's a nice addition and quite interesting. If it is down to users wanting to get sour at people who have looked but not replied at their thread... seems a bit silly and uptight .

Could be possible but Matt or Tom would be able to answer that for you. Seeing as a lot of people seem to be so against it, it doesn't seem likely it will be staying.
