Anyone else thinking that his cancer might be back? The scan scene was easy to forget but it was in there. I'm inclined to believe that he has cancer again and he's choosing not to tell anyone and or choosing not to treat it (because it'd be impossible for him to treat it without anyone knowing).

It would add extra incentive. From this point onward Walt has nothing to lose because (we can assume) that the DEA will be onto him. But with his cancer gone then he has literally no reason to care about anything anymore. He might as well go balls to the wall with pipebombs and machine guns.

yes, that's why he says he's out of the meth business and gives jesse his money.

I think the bold bit is crucial there is an interview with Vince Gilligan and is asked about the cancer returning so the scan must be important to future storylines.

There's a scene in the finale of Walt being scanned for cancer. Have you decided whether it's back?
The best way I can put it, not to be overly coy, but we're gonna do our best to address everything there is left to address in the final eight episodes, and the cancer is probably chief amongst those items on the list, because it is the plot device that got the show going in the first place. So we definitely have not forgotten about it and, yeah, there's a scene at the end of – in act four of that last episode that speaks to something. Definitely left for the audience to interpret.

I'm still undecided about why would Walt leave that book there as he is so meticulous just look at how he hides the reisen, would he risk leaving it there for Hank to find, it was always going to happen though don't forget the start of the 5th series at his 52nd birthday with the arms it shows that he is on the run or something.
Do you ever feel like you want to go home?

There's been a lot of speculation about that too. If I had to guess I'd say he's got terminal cancer and he wants recognition for everything he's accomplished since he was first diagnosed. He knows he's going to die but he doesn't want to go out with no one knowing what he was capable of. He also knows at this point that his family is set up completely for life (although I would say he was in it for his ego more than financial security since the start) after seeing the money mountain. With that in mind he left the book for Hank to find.

I also wonder what will happen to Hank if Hank busts him. On one hand it's a huge find and anyone deserves massive credit for it (ignoring that the book appearing in front of him was complete luck on Hank's part) but on the other Walt is Hank's step-brother so he'll be heavily criticized for not noticing that the guy he's been barbequing with has been a druglord for the past year right under his nose.

And not to mention the same drug dealing step-brother also paid for his medical bills and physical therapy after his was shot by the cousins. If this does get out into the open, it will most certainly look like hank was in on it (at least to his bosses at the DEA) I mean, Hanks old boss was fired simply because he was friends with Gus, Imagine what would happen to Hank...
