Noticed that there's guides in a few forums such as anything about trading and furni, graphics etc.

I know guides aren't often posted and there aren't that many around so if a member has taken time to write one why don't they get a month VIP or something for it? I've noticed @Pipette; spends ages on hers and those in the graphics section (some take a fair bit of time). So is there any harm in giving a small incentive for it? Could get a few more people making them and spending their time, I know the creators do it out of the kindness and aren't looking for any reward but just could be a nice idea.

Well obviously i've done it just to help people in general, but I do agree incentives really will help people create more and promote more helpfulness ;P

Not a bad idea really. Perhaps we could set up a scheme for them but I don't want to start giving vip out willy-nilly.

Well why not go through all the guides at the moment see which are worthy of it. Then when you get a few more do the same? I wouldn't think a monthly thing would appeal or apply as I don't think many would join in.

It's not a bad idea but as Jan said I think a lot of people write guides just to help people rather than for a reward. I've been working on one for like a year now (keep stopping) just because people have asked and are interested...

managers write handbooks and don't get recognition though, same for senior/head djs, staff who do things (like @Intersocial;'s source thread in news). Most of them get repped though as they're helpful. BTW none of your resources on sendspace work so they're pretty useless atm
