“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.” ― A.A. Milne
I loved SimplexWebs from the near beginning, but something is putting me off them a bit nowadays. The only other host I recommend these days is This*WebHost
If it's your first website I'd go with something cheap + reliable > So just out of personal experience I'd go with 1+1.

superhappy.
@Nick; I think that zFast is great hosting and cheap. zfast.co.uk
i used to put the names of my favourite singers here... then i realised nobody cared
Hmm, when I was using the control panel from 1and1 they only offered a few features such as FTP whereas you could probably get cPanel hosting which is easier for new users for the prices they offer. If it's your first website I'd go with something cheap + reliable > So just out of personal experience I'd go with 1+1.

Also, when I purchased a web domain from them a year or two back I had emailed them about two weeks before my domain was due to expire to tell them I wouldn't be renewing it and I had no reply, then not long after I received an invoice even though I told them and they threatened to send a debt collection agency. Luckily, I managed to get in touch with a member of support to explain the situation and provide evidence and they removed the invoice so just make sure you sort everything out if you do plan on moving to another host with 1and1.
Grim times! Never had problems so far, but I haven't used them in a little while. I hope they haven't gone AOL on everyone and refuses to let people leave. It's a hostage situation.Hmm, when I was using the control panel from 1and1 they only offered a few features such as FTP whereas you could probably get cPanel hosting which is easier for new users for the prices they offer.

Woo, thanks guys. I'll have to check them all out.
Hey,
I'll PM you my e-mail address, if you drop me a line I might be able to work out a deal for you on SimplexWebs.
I know it can be daunting seeing what has happened in our past, but we've been running fine for a long while since then and take security extremely seriously now (as Harry can vouch for, he's often having to sort me out when I've accidentally lost all my access...) and we recently invested heavily in new infrastructure (that we own 100% straight from Dell, not leased or anything) up in Manchester with SSDs, guaranteed RAM for each client etc. If you want, we can set you up with a free trial of some kind?
