Exactly what I was thinking. Haven't been on here the last few days due to work but was looking on my phone (s2) on the BBC News Tec bit for the information on the iPhone 5 and thought it sounded crap. However I knew people would sadly still buy it probably planning to buy it before they had the specs.

People are a sucker for a brand. Apple could release an iMicrowave or something, basically something normal but with their branding on, and the sheeps would come out and buy it.

It's decent hardware and decent software with lots of app availability. If you two clowns want to passionately convince me that (for example) The Galaxy line is better go ahead, but I'm still going to think both lines are easily comparable, and consistent for quality.

I could understand you trying to make the argument for BlackBerrys being worse (because the sale statistics, hardware and software statistics are horrendous), but you cannot without ignorance make the same argument as to why the iPhone line is bad. They do have the sales, they do have the hardware, and they most certainly have the software to shut you up and send your argument home.

I agree with you completely, they have great hardware, great software to match, and they have one of the best app stores with the largest content, I'm not going to say that android or IOS is better, but, both have pro's and cons, android is open, IOS is not.

But, you have to admit there are thousands of people out there that buy a product, simply for the shiny apple of the back of it, no matter what to cost or what little changes it makes.

There are some Microsoft software users who only use Microsoft software because it's the first thing that's shoved infront of them, and there's some Apple users who only buy Apple products for no other reason than the Apple brand appealing to them. Both companies hve two things in common in this way, decent products and successful marketing.

    Another question!

    Is threes network good?

I was going to buy, iPhone 5 from the apple store,

get a sim plan from three.

    £15.90 a month for,
    -600 minutes
    - 5000 texts
    - all you can eat data.

its been amazing for me, i used to be on O2 for years, then I got my 4S and well, I get signal in the middle of nowhere, and not just text/phone calls, I get 3G that even hotspot allows me to use my laptop with!

It's amazing tbh, they really have upgraded around the UK very well.

The key word here is but I'm still going to think both lines are easily comparable" - If that is true, then why the hell is apple so much more expensive.

I know people think I hate apple. I don't. I dislike how they put a much larger price on their products however, and people automatically assume because its more expensive it equals a better product. People don't compare details, specs etc. they just buy the expensive model because to them its the top. I mean people as I mentioned where planning already to buy the iPhone 5 before it was even announced.

Also can anyone confirm what the new processor is the equivlent of for other phones. I've read it's only dual core and a few phones now are quad core, not to mention no NFC which a lot of people think is the future.

To me apple has went from a leader to a follower. The iPhone in my opinion could get away at least with me with its expensive prices when it was the only real main smartphone out there but it feels like as the competition has came and fought its way in offering cheaper prices and the same if not better quality, that apple hasn't bothered trying to change. I like IOS and i'd possibly think about buying the iPhone if it was cheaper, but why pay lots of money for something when I can get the same for less.

Finally as I mentioned the reason apple makes a lot of sales is people just buy anything they make. Some obviously will check out the details but a lot don't.

The thing I'm worried about is getting a signal, because from a few people I've heard that threes signal can be terrible.
