i assume you'll be working for minimum wage, and rejecting any possible monetary promotion for your early years, since wanting an adequate amount of money is deemed materialistic. love doesn't put food in our stomachs, clothes on our backs and a roof over our head. without money in the capitalist society in which we live in, we are nothing. love will eventually come, but being skint is no fun as love don't pay no bills. especially since the majority of users on here are quite young (mid/late teens-early 20s).

well... duh. obviously money is necessary but if it was a choice between bare minimum (enough to live in an ok place and live a semi-cushioned life) or having someone you love, and loving someone completely, i'd choose the second. It's ridiculous to say that you don't need money cos obviously you do, everyone does, but you're kinda pushing what I say a bit too far.

Pretty much, I too am looking to become a teacher and with the way things are going, I'm definitely on track and I'm already in a great relationship, so really, given the options of definitely having a career or definitely having love for the rest of my life, I'd pick the second. Love ultimately will give you more happiness.

how am i pushing what you said too far? i highlighted the fact that my point is applicable to our early years (not whole life), so it shouldn't be deemed silly for someone to strive for monetary goals within their early years of working life, because we are young. in the society we live in, it's encouraged for people to make the most money as they can so they can start a family and be financially stable. therefore, once someone does find love, it would strengthen the bond as financial issues can ruin a relationship.

lucky llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll (thats my totally non jealous face). After a few breakups in the past I just felt so rubbish, I always tend to when I'm not with someone so that seems to me like life sometimes doesn't seem like it's worth living without someone to share it with.

Because you're saying that you can't live without money and basically making me out to seem stupid because of it, when I clearly know that, as does everyone else on this forum (and world). However, why do you seem to think that everyone should follow that path? I'd actually rather make mistakes in love and strive to find someone before setting myself up on a career path. Youth, for me, is about learning mistakes and being in love, not working their ass off to get money which isn't necessary to have tons of...

wasn't my intention to make you look stupid, and i never said everyone should follow that path? you've mentioned why you think love is more important (& explaining why) and i've mentioned why i think money is more important through being financially stable before starting a family. that's all thats happened, chill...

I would say that's a mix of dependency and underlying personal issues rather than actual love. If it's real love then it doesn't carry those things with it
