Why isn't St John Ambulance on the list?
Anyway what the hell is born this way foundation? Sounds like a *Removed* lady GaGa song.

St John Ambulance isn't on there because no one nominated it in the nominations thread. In regards of your second question:

Really hope this goes to a great cause, would rather not it went to an animal one.

I think most of us now really understand that you disagree with the animal charities. I'm sorry but not all of us have the same opinion as you and some others about human and animal charities. Let's just wait and see how it goes.
I implore you to vote for Leukemia and Lymphoma Research UK because they do so much for sufferers of leukemia (a blood or bone marrow cancer that when diagnosed in children can ultimately be fatal during adulthood) and lymphoma (an immune system cancer that affects primarily those with HIV)
Their site can be found here: http://leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk/
Approximately 100,000 people are diagnosed with these and related cancers every year in the US and around half of these die. Leukemia is the most common cancer among children under 18 in the US as well.
A statement from their site says:
"At any one time Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research have:£65 million committed to life-saving research
260 active research projects around the UK to beat blood cancer
By investing in the best UK research into blood cancer we aim to find a cure for all these diseases and improve the quality of life for all patients touched by leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related conditions."
1 in 6,250 people (which might not seem like a lot, but it really is) die every year from leukemia and in the US the survival rate for the next 5 years is really quite low, at about 55-60%
In 2002, about 200,000 people had a history of leukemia in the US in 2002, which is about 0.1%
people know me because of that shower thing one time and I do not regret anything
upon further review I feel a rather mild regret is warranted
Voted for:
The Scout Association, Shelter Box, Charity: Water, Kids Inspire, Demelza House, Dyspraxia Foundation, Drop4Drop, Acorns Children's Hospice, Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Aid for Africa, Women's Aid, Young Minds, Depression Alliance, Action for Children in Conflict.
Did a google of all of them and made a choice; mainly voted for so many to give them a head up over the animal charities
Voted for foundation for suicide prevention and depression alliance ;D
Really hope a good charity is picked
