Already?! how did you manage that? Anyway your local game may be able to sort it for you, mine does it and they don't charge much.

I've left, but I still visit sometimes!
Dogs. I had my headphones and charger plugged in, they run in and run into the wires and my Xbox landed on its side so it scratched and hopefully it's not that much to get it removed...

shouldn't be standing it up anyway imo.
For games i really play a lot i purchase the protection when i buy it, normally $3. I damaged Black ops 1 within an hour of getting it, went back to the store and they just exchanged itlifetime best $3 i ever spend.
I tend to install games to my hard drive as soon as I get it. Less noise, less overall wear.
One of the arguments is that if you've got it standing up (usually to fit in a gap) it blocks most of the vents so the system could overheat, plus like someone else said, it's far easier to get knocked over and the disc scratched.
To the OP, don't bother fixing your disc, get a friend to bring their copy over, use it to install the game to the hard drive and then you'll be able to play just fine. When games are installed, all the Xbox does is spin it for a minute or so to make sure the game is the right one you're trying to play then it'll stop.
