If hard drive's going to cause confusion it should be left alone and not be classed as a portable device under these circumstances imo

I think if a laptop isnt, then a hard drive certainly shouldnt be either

I agree that laptops should be allowed to be posted in there. I don't know the exact reason why they're not posted in there, @HotelUser; explained it all to me a while back but I honestly can't remember. Maybe he can answer that one.

The things I would consider to be portable devices would be: Laptops, usb drives, external hardrives, tablets, mobiles, cameras and any of the accessories that come with those things.

If we could come up with a list of what should and shouldn't be posted there then I can create a thread and make it more clear.

Mobile devices, as in ones you carry with you in your bag or pocket (mobiles, PDAs, tablets) should be for that forum, nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah I think that would be a good idea, for moderators as well as members

Especially since that thread was posted on the 10th and was only just moved, when moderators should be actively reading the threads in their sections regularly and ting, so obviously there was a bit of confusion/uncertaintly somewhere down the line.

It seems odd that a laptop isnt considered a portable device, since it is basically a portable computer that you can take anywhere is it not? I've never got that one personally but yeah maybe someone can elighten us?
