Recently I have been following Rylan Clark on twitter and I noticed that he posted a picture of him wearing a shirt that said 'I'm gay get over it!' Straight away this caught my attention. I also seen that people on facebook and twitter were calling him 'A gay so and so who can't sing'. First of all, fair enough you are allowed your opinion but why should you have to pick out that he is gay? SO WHAT. You wouldn't write a status about someone straight like 'This straight man can not sing at all' so what makes Rylan any different? He likes men? BIG DEAL.
Also, I have realised a lot of things, being Gay/Bi/Straight is not a choice and there is nothing wrong with it, the gender we like does not define who we are as a person, I don't see why people get offended when others call them names to do with their sexuality because THAT IS WHAT WE ARE! You don't see straight people getting bullied so why should gay/bi-sexual people be bullied.
I'm a girl, we all know that and can see that, I have blue eyes, long hair etc but nobody comes up to me to remind me of those things so why should they have to remind us day in and day out that we like the same gender?
Why should we have to 'come out'? Straight people don't run around shouting 'I'm straight!' and we shouldn't have to run around shouting 'I'm gay!' It's ridiculous, we are normal people just like everybody else.
The last thing I want to say is for those who are still hiding their sexuality. You don't need to tell anybody what gender you like because its none of their business, you tell who you want to tell and they will understand you, if people try to call you names about it then just say so what? We are who we are, the gender we like does not change how we act.
Thanks so much for reading I just wanted to make people feel a bit more aware and I would like to say that I am Bisexual GET OVER IT!! (Share your stories too)
