Just out of interest, would you say you could put a price upon someone's life ever? The chance of dying on your 99th pick itself is 50% chance of dying.
Being dead after the 99th box is 99% chance.

You wouldn't live till 40 if you picked the wrong box. You would die, you wouldn't get the money you had won up until that point. It's an instant death scenario, not a 'You can spend your money but your life will be shorter'
Or would you be more enticed if the odds were even greater and the reward was greater.
superhappy.
I honestly don't think I would take the gamble. I mean, I don't *need* the money, I'm quite happy with life at the moment, so there's no need to risk it. If I want to gamble for a lot of money, I'll stick to the lottery![]()
That sounds fair enough. Would you get more tempted to try it later on in life? - so when you're not so comfortable. (Not that student life isn't great or anything..)
superhappy.
I'd like to say I'm brave enough to choose just one but I probably wouldn't
Just go to random.org and have the random number generator go from 1 to 100, if it picks 1 you die, and you lower the upper limit as you carry on.

So you would risk your life at a 40% chance of dying?
Absolute madness.
