Default loyalists plan Dublin demonstration over union flag

Ulster loyalists are planning to demonstrate in Dublin over the decision to restrict the flying of the union flag 100 miles away in Belfast. The decision to protest in the Irish capital next weekend will raise fears of a repeat of the Love Ulster march in Dublin six years ago, which degenerated into a major riot in the city. The loyalist victims' campaigner Willie Frazer has confirmed that he has informed the Garda Síochána that he and his followers will hold a peaceful protest in Dublin next Saturday. Frazer was one of the organisers of the Love Ulster demonstration, which marched to the Dáil but triggered rioting and disorder across central Dublin.

There's going to be bloody murder. They tried to do the same thing six years ago and this was the outcome:

I honestly couldn't give two ***** about whats happening with their flag but if they decide to come down here to do another march, I hope they get what they deserve. That sounds a bit harsh but all that happens is trouble arises, we don't want that, stay away.

I don't understand why peaceful protests can never seem to happen over there. I would also protest over the current decision, but it baffles me how these things escalate every single time.

Richie, why don't you stop beating about the bush and just say your glad the British flag has been taken down over Belfast and you wish to annex the north into the Republic of Ireland? just go ahead and say it if it's what you really think, rather than sitting on the fence.

In my opinion, i'm personally delighted the British people of Northern Ireland are exercising their right to march and protest and I hope it leads to the flag being put back over the British mainland where it belongs. We need a hell of a lot more protesting in this country over a whole range of issues.

I'm right behind the people of Belfast in holding a passionate and peaceful march, let's hope it forces a reversal of the decision to remove the flag.

I genuinely couldn't give a ****. I actually said to @Red; they shouldn't have taken it down to begin with. I just don't see what good will come from visiting Dublin for a march. We all know there will be murder. They can prance around the UK crying, just stay away from us.

Oh fair enough, so you'll be backing the protestors (providing it remains peaceful) in their goal to reinstate the Union flag?

    Superb.

Sorry i've just re-read and realised i've got the wrong end of the stick, they're planning to protest in Dublin which I don't see much point in. Either way though, I think they've reached the point where they are fed up of gloating Irish nationalists from the Republic and have decided to take the protest to them. All very sad, all could have been avoided had the flag not been removed over it's rightful territory.

I do hope they get their flag back but by marching elsewhere.

I support the protests and the flag should never have been removed. I hope more are organised across Northern Ireland but they shouldn't be going to Dublin to protest. Nothing to do with Dublin and its not going to help. I doubt and hope that there will not be many people at it.
