The kid could call the TARDIS because he got into the wires or something.

In that episode the Doctor was confused because the TARDIS' phone isn't connected. Can't believe Moffat didn't pick up on this because if that phone wasn't working before, why does it work now without explanation?

Maybe it will be explained when he finds the caller. He'll probs be like "Phones not even connected" yada yada. He seemed surprised when it was rang as far as I remember lol

Hopefully. I hope they do notice because Moffat's usually pretty good at noticing detail. I'm sure other fans will have noticed this too.
