debatable Idea

Hi there Habbox lovers,
Now. I'm not saying anything is up with the Habbox name but I've had a debatable idea for you guys to debatable about. How about the Habbox name is changed to something like 'Habboxtra' (Pronounced Habbo-Extra) or something along those lines. As I say there isn't anything wrong with 'Habbox' and it was only a debatable idea, or maybe come up with your own below! Though even if the name was changed we'd have to go through a lot of things to get it sorted - For example: changing site names, editing Jingles, editing graphics, art and all that so it obviously will not be changed but this post is just a little fun to see what your views where. I think it would be a bad idea because of people unable to know who we are yet the X in habbox could stand for Xtra?

I think that would do more harm than good really. Habbox is the oldest fansite there is, people have come to know and recognise that name, and by changing it, it would just feel completely different and could do a lot of damage.

I think the name is fine, and I wouldn't want it to be called anything else than Habbox It just has a nice ring to it, saying it next to other things like "habboxforum, habboxlive, hxhd," etc, and it just wouldnt feel right with anything else haha.

It would be like changing the name of something you have known, loved and got used to, like imagine eastenders got a name change to something else, it would take years for people to twig on and people would probably end up calling it the old name for ages anyway, and discussion about it would be hard etc.


Habbox is a fabulous name, one that many people will instantly recognise if you told it to them, especially all the older players etc that will have been active users of habbox rare values in the past.

I am so confused and amused at the same time lol. Why on earth would we change our name when it is good at the moment. It is a simple word and the fansite with a name which is the closest related to Habbo.

As you just said, there is so much work to have a name change but why does Habbox need one LOL. I don't think the site ever gets complaints for a bad name and I don't think it has since it was started almost 10 years ago
