    That's not American vs English, it's simply right or wrong since it's Greek and it's pronounced baiter

    It is aitch, and I know it seems weird because of it being... H... , but it just is aitch. I think it's much more common among young people to say haytch though;

    "British English dictionaries give aytch as the standard pronunciation for the letter H.... Haytch is a standard pronunciation in Irish English and is increasingly being used by native English-speaking people all across the country, irrespective of geographical provenance or social standing. Polls have shown that the uptake of haytch by younger native speakers is on the rise. "

    I'm one of those annoying people who pronounce just about every number in a stupid and uneducated manner so idek can't really judge I also tend to leave out the 't' in a word like water

    im Scottish and our education system must be crap cause they've never emphasised that its pronounced without a H. tbh no1 up in my area gives a **** how u pronounce words as long as it's understandable nor do we use big words in everyday conversation. may be the reason why my vocabulary is so poor AND I CAN'T DO BIG WORDS ON SCRABBLE

    i drop t's too such as in fourteen. Also why do people pronounce butter like buttah? meh idc pronouncation doesn't bother me. any big or complex words ive learnt is through reading books out with school. if someone corrected my pronunciation that would piss me off more than someone else pronouncing it 'wrongly'.

    we need another one of those accent and pronunciation threads with all these words lol (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthrea...ghlight=Accent)

    I can't really recall my school emphasising it being aitch either. I have either forgotten or I guess they are just giving up because haytch has become much more common, I only found out it was incorrect when a friend told me

    That thread strangely reminds me of this thing bethie posted ages ago;
