Not technically made by google, but all the Nexus phones are pretty much Google phones..

    The only "pure" Android phones.

I like it tbh, it looks a little tacky but I'd still buy it haha. Intrigued about the Ubuntu OS, any news on a release date for that?

Will be interesting to see what they can come up with for sure and how well it does. It's a bit of a tough market.

A low price point will certainly appeal to people.

Ubuntu are still working with operators and OEMs I think.

It's really an interesting topic for me. In December myself and my partner were contacted by Firefox about our HTML5 Reddit client called Reditr. We promptly created a functional prototype for Firefox OS and we were flown to the Firefox offices in California and later to the Mobile World Congress in Spain. We have the developer phones and I have to say they're pretty cool. Steve Jobs originally only wanted Javascript, HTML and CSS apps for the iPhone and Apple never went though with it. It was probably a good idea at the time because the hardware was respectively less powerful years ago. Now though, I think what Firefox is doing is really great. First, they're trying to get these phones to be inexpensive smartphones for communities without the financials to afford higher end phones like most of us are used to. Second, the fact that virtually the entire user interface and all third party apps are crafted in HTML5 is absolutely cool. My HTML5 mobile apps run better on my lowend Firefox OS device than they do my iPhone 4s and Nexus 7. Firefox and Microsoft are now pushing HTML5 in the mobile sphere and I think it's great and hope that Apple and Google eventually follow.

^ I also saw the Ubuntu booth at the MWC and I've run Ubuntu Touch on my Nexus 7. It has potential but it still needs a lot of work in my opinion
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
