360 was $399 ps3 was 499 and the ps3 paid for that price point, too.

546,000 first week sales of the ps3 compared to over 750,000 for the 360. customers generally vote with their wallets.

Hmm, any ideas on the PS4 price? If the PS3 was $499, I'd be surprised if the PS4 was anything below the Xbox One's $599.

THIS is where they could really sucker punch microsoft. even $549 would be a killer blow imo.

The $599 price tag wouldn't shock me anyway and I don't imagine the PS4 being a huge amount cheaper (though given the PS3 launch I assume they have learnt their lesson).

Zavvi had the Xbox One up for £400 - but there is the price promise thing, so I guess it means £400 is the MAXIMUM it will cost.

only if they lower the price though so they could increase it.

So I would take the prices with a pinch of salt until it's either A) Been announced or B) More retailers put prices up I guess.

I sort of took the pricing as a "this is the highest it could possibly be" thing tbh :L
