The only reason that I would give it to news over content is that news has more people, which means it is likely to be done quicker (but that point gets negated because most content designers are in news).News does not equate to guides, it should be the Content Department's job. News means current affairs, come on. It needs serious work and if you think guides should be news, I think you should open a dictionary.
News needs way more things to work on than this. I am fully against the news department doing this because it simply makes no sense.
That is not news' problem. News has much more important things to focus on, which is lacking at the moment. If you like me to list them out, I'd me more than happy to. But that is a really silly reason. From my experience, news has many more important issues to focus on and I was always against this.
Paraphrasing articles seems like a monotonous norm for the department nowadays.

For those wondering,
- News is paraphrased and boring.
- Real life news should have been removed long ago and replaced with specialist reports that myself and Martin were successful at.
- Lot's of extremely boring articles. Reading through them is like paint drying on the wall. Only Sam seems to be putting in the effort of actually going beyond borders.
- International hotels seem to take priority over Habbo.com
- SPAG errors are prevelant majorly until the article is edited, even beyond that it seems dry.
I hate being negative, I really do. But to say this should be taken on by a department, in which fundamental problems need taken care of is not right. OED on news says differently.

Some of those I do agree with and me stepping down also proved a point really I thought, as I spoke to you about minimally. That is not news' problem. Like I said, I don't care where it goes it's just something that could provide more members for Habbox which we need to try and get.
Without a doubt a very nice idea, but news should not be taking this on, but rather content :p.

I have noticed international hotels taking over a little so I have actually asked Hayden to lay off those a bit lmao.
from what I have seen the amount of spag errors before we edit has been getting slightly better, but with the current situation of some new people making up about 1/2 the dep it's inevitable that there will be more errors just cause they are new really.
I really am in support of it just cause of the bringing of more members though especially cause it worked for habbosecrets so well.
the real life I dunno with really, like I do enjoy reading them when someone posts them but they aren't posted massively much anymore, but again we do get staff from time to time who have taken an interest in posting real life quite a bit, not really doing any harm by being there imo.
No offence, but where have you been?I have noticed international hotels taking over a little so I have actually asked Hayden to lay off those a bit lmao.

Yeh, I get you Jan, never an attack on you. But like I always used to question, what makes Habbox News different. Real life news is great, but many turn them into editorials or reviews of technology and entertainment like it was before. Re-phrasing real life stories brings nothing new and for news to be relevant nowadays, it needs something unique like thatI have noticed international hotels taking over a little so I have actually asked Hayden to lay off those a bit lmao.

Not even going to read this thread, I've had a very, very basic Tl;DR though.
All I can say is, didn't you all argue that your writing style was completely differents? So if you can't write content for Habbox (which, may I add, includes Guides) then surely you can't write them as part as news as you can't write in that style? Or are you going to admit that's ******** like I first thought?![]()
What we said was that those that are in news now: Inkwell, Intersocial, .Cymru., Runeaddict99 and myself have all been in Content or have written for it therefore would know, although I don't really want to write guides like that as I'm not really a fanatic about that side of Habbo. Not even going to read this thread, I've had a very, very basic Tl;DR though.

i meant for non-new people to the dep![]()
yea i do agree on that really, not really had any real life articles done atm anyway at least for that to happen lmao. be nice if there could be more unique ones like the tiger bread and salty cheese really cause they actually make for an entertaining read lmaoYeh, I get you Jan, never an attack on you. guides as in what we are on about are very similar to current news anyway though, it's literally going to be cut out the non-necessary bits from a badge report and make it as concise as possible so that it just says this badge has been released and how to get it (and for the case of those who don't tell you how to get it in their reports to add that too). wouldn't really call it similar to the wiki work etc lmaoNot even going to read this thread, I've had a very, very basic Tl;DR though.
