And I'm also assuming only beta testers got to see their own and other beta testers chat, normal users were the same? not sure though.

I actually spent half an hour on the hotel today to see what all the 'whining' was about. In my opinion all the complaints were 100% justified. In a public/busy room it was absolutely not working and it was impossible to follow the chat. Clearly when the beta testers, whoever they are, were testing the feature the rooms were pretty quiet.

All credit to staff for noticing how awful the situation was and doing something about it asap.
