Yes you do? it needs to connect to the internet every 24 hours or you can't play the games.
To play games off the hard drive yes, you can play games off the disc whenever.

I think Microsoft have come with the whole Xbox One idea a bit early. I can see where they are coming from in terms of pushing for more digital and trying to phase out the disc further. But maybe too early for that stage just yet. If they got away with some of the requirements such as the online check every 24 hours and other parts it wouldn't be as bad.

Don't the worst kind of fanboy is a PC fanboy. Saying it in a thread that has nothing to do with PC's. If i wanted a pc for games i would of got one but i didn't, i prefer consoles and that's how it will stay.

If I'm playing a game i don't want to watch tv i watch to play the game. If i want to watch tv i will do so, on my tv.

XB1 isn't the future. Its the future that Microsoft want you to go because if they have a "entertainment" system in everyones homes then think of all the $$$ they will make with all there "tv" features.

example nintendo wii. What else could it do except motion control and all the stupid wii channels. nothing. at first it was brilliant. but by 2013 everyone is bored to death of it. except old people.

I can also go on a forum or ask Google on my laptop that's right beside me. If you don't have a laptop then sure would be a nice feature. But they demonstrated snap by looking for a trailer of a sequel to a movie they were watching. Stuff like that is pointless.

You pay more for a bunch of features i will never use. Like i said i have a laptop takes me 2 seconds to type in something and with the £80 I'll save i can buy a game at launch.

It does what a GAMES console should. That is the main primary feature that a games console should do. It should be able to play new and used games. Any features relating to gaming are welcome like streaming, sharing etc. Anything else you don't need. Sure its handy to have netflix on it but i can also do it on my Laptop. Doesn't make it "the future" because you can watch tv through a box on your tv. There nice features but features that end of the day are pointless if you have other gadgets.

The Wii failed in the later years because it had no good games. It wasn't getting the main 3rd party games and there were no good games for people to play. Most games were kids or party games. Over the last couple years the only game i wanted to play was Zelda. Plus i have a Ps3 that was GIVING me free games every month to play and were bringing out fun exclusives and was getting good 3rd party games.

And the Wii is still more innovative than the Xbox One and Ps4.

So yea.

yeah but why would u wana be looking at 2 different screens having to make your life awkward. when you look at 1 screen your attention is on both. not one or the other.

4th. you dont have a phone to just make calls and text do you?... no because its got on with times. and doesnt do just one set of standard things. it does hundreds (theres an app for everything) that ring any bells? and come on, stop with the crappy laptop comments, i dont like looking at my laptop every 5 mins, i like my attention to be on what im doing, i dont like watching my eastenders on my laptop. because its small. so id rather use my xbox. and watch it on x3 the size of this laptop screen.

the wii did have good games to begin with.
but like what happened with the wii will happen to the ps4.
people will just get bored.
