According to Kotaku.com this is what they're changing:
Take it with a pinch of salt until we see the xbox news site, Kotaku isn't always the most reliable source. No more always online requirement
The console no longer has to check in every 24 hours
All game discs will work on Xbox One as they do on Xbox 360
Authentication is no longer necessary
An Internet connection is only required when initially setting up the console
All downloaded games will function the same when online or offline
No additional restrictions on trading games or loaning discs
Region locks have been dropped

Update on June 19, 2013: As a result of feedback from the Xbox community, we have changed certain policies for Xbox One reflected in this blog. Some of this information is no longer accurate — please check here for the latest.
Last week at E3, the excitement, creativity and future of our industry was on display for a global audience.
For us, the future comes in the form of Xbox One, a system designed to be the best place to play games this year and for many years to come. As is our heritage with Xbox, we designed a system that could take full advantage of advances in technology in order to deliver a breakthrough in game play and entertainment. We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games. We believe in the benefits of a connected, digital future.
Since unveiling our plans for Xbox One, my team and I have heard directly from many of you, read your comments and listened to your feedback. I would like to take the opportunity today to thank you for your assistance in helping us to reshape the future of Xbox One.
You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world.
So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:
- An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.
- Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.
In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions.
These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.
We appreciate your passion, support and willingness to challenge the assumptions of digital licensing and connectivity. While we believe that the majority of people will play games online and access the cloud for both games and entertainment, we will give consumers the choice of both physical and digital content. We have listened and we have heard loud and clear from your feedback that you want the best of both worlds.
Thank you again for your candid feedback. Our team remains committed to listening, taking feedback and delivering a great product for you later this year.

yeah but why would u wana be looking at 2 different screens having to make your life awkward. when you look at 1 screen your attention is on both. not one or the other.
Do you how extremely lazy that makes you sound? Also if we use your example, was stuck in a game. The game would be paused while i looked up on what to do and then would direct my attention back to the tv. And my laptop is usually in front of more or slightly to the side. Oh the effort.
the 2nd bit im not gonna reply cause your obviously quite stupid.
Exactly i didn't want to bring it up but your correct. Your comment was stupid. "Another thing is you cant search by your voice with a normal tv" Thats because most people use tv to view things not to search things that's what the internet is for.
3rdly look at that stupid playstation eye camera, come on dude were not living in 2009-2010.
Sorry and what is the Kinect? A mandatory stupid camera where the Eye is an optional add on. And Playstation Eye was around on the Ps2 well before the Kinect. So your comment "Lol at sony using xbox 360 kinect stuff" is a stupid remark due to the Xbox used playstation eye originally and secondly your using a slightly updated Kinect.
4th. you dont have a phone to just make calls and text do you?... no because its got on with times.
and doesnt do just one set of standard things. it does hundreds (theres an app for everything) that ring any bells?
Phones did move on with the times. The Xbox is trying to drag people with there vision of the times,
So revolutionary.
and come on, stop with the crappy laptop comments, i dont like looking at my laptop every 5 mins, i like my attention to be on what im doing, i dont like watching my eastenders on my laptop. because its small. so id rather use my xbox. and watch it on x3 the size of this laptop screen.
No your easily amused. And why watch it on your xbox? if your watching it while playing a game your "attention" isn't fully on the game. Also coulds always just watch eastenders when it airs on your actual tv like normal people do currently. I see no problem with my current set up and I'm sure there are many more aswell.
the wii did have good games to begin with.
but like what happened with the wii will happen to the ps4.
people will just get bored.
This will be the same people who got bored of the Ps3 i assume? You know the console with better rated exclusives and selling more consoles in a shorter time frame than the Xbox 360? The same people who cheered at E3 with the Ps4? Or is this just more made up people like the people who cheered at the Xbox One reveal? (You know M$ own staff because the press didn't)![]()
Hallelujah XboxFinally getting back into the competition
Anyone want to sum up the negatives about Xbox now? The only one that comes into mind immediately for me, is the price. Other than that, I wouldn't mind getting one now...
No you weren't You were wrong. Microsoft have realized there being slaughtered in pre orders and removing Ps4 vs XB1 polls doesn't do anything.
They are backtracking on there decisions because the majority have spoken. There crawling back with there tail between there legs trying to win back there customers. You don't even know if its worked yet.
We'll wait and see if Microsofts groveling works for them. Price is still a big fact as is the privacy and mandatory kinect.
Kinect I couldn't care less about personally, I'm a fan of it anywayNo you weren't You were wrong. Microsoft have realized there being slaughtered in pre orders and removing Ps4 vs XB1 polls doesn't do anything.

We'll wait and see if Microsofts groveling works for them. Price is still a big fact as is the privacy and mandatory kinect. And I'm willing to pay a bit more for the Xbox, but at the moment it's a bit more than I was expecting, so we will have to see on that
