Once soldiers commit to the fight for our country, they don't have a choice. They act as a deterrent and make us feel safe that they can protect us if ever anything happens. It's like the police, they don't always fight crime but their presence in an area often prevents it. Soliders are heroes and risk their lives for us when they need to.

    Seems it...

Also they're not really committed, it seems like another job having to give notice.
If you’re under 18 when you join, you can leave by giving 14 days’ notice at any time after you’ve been in the Army for 28 days – provided this is within six months from the day you join.

People who are over 18 when they join have to give 14 days’ notice at any time after 28 days’ service to leave within three months after joining. Soldiers who are still doing their basic training can leave with their commanding officer’s permission.

Actually during work, they do have a choice but if they didn't do as told they would be kicked out. Much like if I worked in a shop and didn't serve customers, I would be fired.

I won't reply to any response by this as it is getting off topic.

It's a job like any other, they don't have to be there, they chose to be there, they know what the job entails and they're not heroes unless they do something heroic ie jumping on a grenade.

    Back on topic.

    No Murray deserves nothing.

Not for winning Wimbledon, for who he is as a person when he retires, maybe. But not right now.

Maybe after a long career possibly, based on his current career and the GS win, I would say no..

    No

What about the doctor's saving lives everyday and getting usually no thanks, if anything usually cuts.

I already think sports people are paid far much than they should but to knight them on top of that it's just a bit silly in my mind. Not saying it's not good he's won, it's just not the top of the worlds greatest achievements
