Thread: Habbo for iOS

Doesn't seem ready for release, like they said on the blog post it's really just a late closed beta. I totally understand their need to get into the tablet market but this seems rushed. I doubt they'll see much growth until they actually implement new features that will attract new players. It's a step in the right direction though.

Looks interesting. Seeing as I don't own an Ipad i'll stick to using it on my mac. Idk yet though, wonder if it will glitch out like most things in its starting stages, that habbo releases.

This just goes to show how little Habbo understand their own community. The iPad app has been a long time coming, and it's important they moved into the modern age but they have gone the entirely wrong way about this. Had they just made a regular article as they have with other apps letting everyone know Habbo was now on ios, it would have definitely been a welcome addition by everyone. However a months worth of hype for something that is only relevant to a minority of users and isn't even globally available is ridiculous. If they knew their customers, they would realise that with this much hype of course everyone is going to be imagining it's going to be the return of all the things we have asked for. They literally just set us all up to be disappointed.

I also can't imagine why this is going to be needed unless you only own an iPad and not some form of notebook too. I cannot think of a single benefit to using Habbo on a tablet instead of my laptop. I would bet money on this never being developed for windows and android tablets, because after the initial surge or apple users downloading just to see what it's like, this app is going to end up unused.

I think it'll be good to have it on tablets. I'll give it a go when it's available in the uk!

maybe i'm out of touch, but i still think this is a big deal. this is an opportunity for habbo to branch out from it's usual market and perhaps reach a new audience. i'm glad habbo are proud to promote it to such an extent, shows how much of a push they want to give it and that it's not just a half-assed attempt (bobba bar).

of course this is a huge moment to them, this is a new platform for habbo - not just adding an nostalgic game to habbo. you think this is the only thing that might fall on it's arse once the shine has come off? tell me how many people moan about wanting "old public rooms" back, and watch them gather dust as no-one visits the ice cafe or basement lobby.

but thats not our fault right? no one visits them because they are built slightly different! OH 2006 COME BACK TO ME!! OH LOST YOUTH!!

Once again Sulake's priorities are all wrong.

I did predict this as one of the possibilities, but I thought for all the attention it was receiving it would be something that changed the fundamental landscape of Habbo. Instead, it was something that only affected about 50% of the population. Most of the people who have an iPad also have a desktop or laptop anyway. People will use this app probably out of curiousity, realize it's inferior to what they already have, and then go back to what they had to begin with.

I think this is grounds for quitting. If it wasn't apparent already, Habbo doesn't care what its users think. I was prepared to give them two years to rebound from the mute because I knew it set them back quite a bit, and I thought was more than fair for a big corporation like Sulake. But after all this waiting and build-up they still didn't bring back any old features like Battleball and the original Snowstorm which were requested far more than Habbo for iOS and which probably would have taken much less time to implement than an entire app.

I think why this is such a problem for me is that they bothered to make the whole hotel aware of this "grand announcement" by publishing teaser videos and an ad on the homepage, but yet it wasn't even worthy of half the hype they gave it. It's a huge disappointment by any stretch of the imagination.

People seriously need to get off their high horses and quit whining. Half of you who're complaining are probably fully grown adults, it's embarrassing. Get a grip.

I'll give it a go but I honestly think it is going to be too fiddly. Think if it is good I will have to buy a stylus because i don't think using my finger to try and move around a large room properly will work very well.
