That's just the way the wiki works!
I don't really care that it "makes the staff look more active", we can tell how it is because of the information.
When the wiki first started we had a lot of contributions, things have slowed down a lot because the main bulk of information is now on there, and it's time consuming to go round checking for missing information and updating things - but staff do still update, and it's obvious.

And anyway, more content pages isn't always a good thing, because most of them will probably just become empty content pages.
