I can't say I've ever heard of anybody feeling offended by cathartic swearing like "oh ****!" when you stub a toe or whatever, in if anything it reaffirms to everybody watching that u arent normally so clumsy.

Depends on usage. If you're saying it to someone with malicious intent then yeah it's going to be seen as offensive, inappropriate and maybe unnecessary. If you say it for no reason it's not necessarily offensive, but it shows you lack a vocabulary to better describe what you mean and it becomes inappropriate and unnecessary. That said, if someone is injured, nearly injured or deeply upset I tend to think it's justified to a certain extent.
