Is a homosexual affair harder to deal with?

id be more forgiving if it was with a girl. i think the reason you'd feel worse if it was with the opposite sex and you didn't know your partner was bisexual is because you might then think they're secretly homosexual and so their relationship with you has been fake.

is it different for guys tho? if your gf cheated on you with another girl, would that be a bigger deal than if she went with a guy? what about gay people who's partner goes for the opposite sex?

This was the conclusion in a discussion earlier too. Something to do with natural instincts and stuff, that men compete with other men to provide or whatever whereas women don't see other women as competition. There were other reasons but I can't really remember

Oops missed the 'more'! I'd feel sadder if it was an affair with a female.

I think it is worse yes if they are gay themselves as it isn't just that they fell in love with another woman, it's that the entire relationship was false to begin with making all of those memories a facade. For years of your life to be spent with somebody and turn out to be false would be devastating.

I've actually had guys leave me for women but I'm around the age where people who want to experiment finally decide if they want to carry on with men or go towards women. Its really flexible really cause the world is your oyster and you can always change your mind. I mean a lot of men at the age of 50 who have had kids and married a woman have came out as gay which can be a huge impact for the family.

My advice is that in this day and age you really gotta be aware of what could suddenly happen and try to prepare for it. It may never happen but no harm having a backup plan or two.
