Default Does and Sound Card fit in any PC?

So i've found the sound card i'm going to buy, but I only just wondered - will it fit into my PC? Which made me wonder more as to if any Sound Card fits into any PC. Thanks

Assuming you have the correct slot (PCI/PCI-E) available then it should do.

How do I know if I have the correct slot? I know the guy I bought it off said "there is an audio card in it" but I think its just the motherboard one (which is basically ****). Sorry for the noobish question

If you know your motherboard manufacturer + model then you can look up the manufacturers website and find all the info on it, or just open it and you'll see.

Would that come under system model? Its a Gigabyte Mobo, and it says "System Model: xxxxxx" x being numbers and letters.

Yes it is, just typed it in on google, its a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P, i'll check in a second. Thanks

The link for my motherboard : http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...px?pid=3833#ov

Not sure where to look to see if it would fit a soundcard in it. Do you mind looking for me?

    1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16
    1 x PCI Express x1 slot
(All PCI Express slots conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)
    1 x PCI slot

Presumably youll have a graphics card occupying the PCI-E x16 slot, so you have a PCI-E x1 and PCI slot available, most sound cards I believe are PCI (although it'll state if if it's PCI-E or PCI).

Based on his other thread he doesn't have one, so probably wanting to know to narrow the search.
