Default Should Habbo be only for teens? What are your thoughts?

Right, I wasn't sure where to put this but earlier today at HxHD someone came and said Habbo should only be for teens. She has seen habbos over 27 years old and even in their 40's...now i'm not sure how you can even know their actual age unless they tell you!

Now, I was trying to tell this Habbo that I do not see anything wrong about the age limit...well I mean maybe in the 40's is a bit old to play Habbo but under 30 seem to be a fair age to play still if you have the time of course. Question is, should Habbo only be for teens? Would you want to see your kids in their 20s or even in their 40s to play Habbo? Bare in mind I have nothing against Habbo in any way just was curious

It is always interesting to see other users response about a topic

Back in the early days of Habbo, it wasn't really for young ones like it is today, I would say it was more for 15-20 year olds. You always had the very young ones, some that weren't even old enough within the Habbo Way. But they were always the minority. The big projects like Habbo Fansites that had over 500+ listeners back then, shown how mature the Community was. The enthusiasm for fansites (creating your very own website) isn't really there anymore because too many players, are simply too young and want to play Mummy & Daddies.

Sulake decided to use a tactic to try and make more revenue, and that tactic was to target the youngest because they were might inclined to want credits. The cool kids never bought credits anymore, they started to do casinos, bulk, RuneScape transfers and so forth. Then over time, the tactic started to turn the game into a child-like game, where the 'omg you noob' remarks, disappeared, and the things you'd call them a noob for, became norm. The mature players started to leave, fansites closed, and the leftovers are Sulakes new unintentional creation that they can't change back because the Investors know nothing about the game and it's past. The creators inside also know nothing, and there's no real passion there like there used to be, it's all about corporate now.

Just think how many players they'd get if they brought back a 2007 client of the game, and started doing things how they used to like Jagex started to. But they can't do that, because they don't even have the code for the Shockwave BattleBall so how would they even have a backup of anything going back to 2007 lol (Paul LaFontaine told me that).

Wow, all the post made by other staff/users are deleted due to downhill we have had.

On topic: I agree with what you have said Marbian. I am sure if they brought old Habbo back that many habbo users would probably come back....maybe or maybe not... It mostly affected when they had the merge of the hotels and that issue with when we had to take out candles at the habbo lounge...forgot the issue was um on yeah the great Mute...it kinda gave a downfall I am sure as well.

Also for age wise, I couldn't tell my friends that I still go on Habbo regularly (due to being a HxHD Staff) because to be quite frankly, it is kinda embarrassing to tell them about it lol maybe they play it as well lol.

I think the question should be "Is Habbo for teens only?" I'd say yes, it is.
Just as Marbian said, it's no longer what it used to be. Previously it was very well suited for all ages, as Habbo had a culture that was easily embraced by all users. It's very evident that Habbo began to target the younger users, especially in 2009 I noticed campaigns and advertisements promoting childrens cartoons, TV shows, books, etc. The culture of Habbo today has evolved and it isn't what it used to be, it's no longer interesting for older plays.

My favourite thing about old Habbo was how easy it was to just enter a room and find a group of people chatting and then just begin to discuss different topics for hours, and after that you'd become good friends with them and you'd always look forward to seeing them again. It's so hard to find that now. The closest thing there is are the "18+" rooms, which to be honest are usually dead or just mainly filled with people who are AFK or not really discussing anything. A lot of older people enjoyed those rooms, but now it's not interesting to the younger population. Habbo has nothing left to offer the older population. Casinos are gone, furniture trading/collecting has been destroyed, games are boring and repetitive, armies have become too big, competitions and prizes aren't interesting.

I think there's nothing wrong with older people playing this game, but I just don't think Habbo offers them much any more as the focus is all on the younger population.

Habbo now has all age users playing Habbo. If my kids when they turn 20 still plays Habbo (if Habbo still exist at that time) nothing wrong with that but if my kids are 40 or 50 still playing it I will be like what but I mean I won't stop them playing Habbo tho .

What is the difference between 20 and 40 for you. Why is it taboo at 40 but not even into the late twenties
