the 6/12 month wouldn't be that great, as some people would prefer to buy 1 month at a time rather than be forced to buy 6 (i.e. new users, if I join a forum and buy VIP (not that I ever would) I definitely wouldn't buy a year straight away, I'd buy 1 month stick about and then maybe consider it)

I agree we need new emoticons, get rid of all the habbo furni and get some new non habbo skins (even if you have to buy them from themeforest or whatever)

then people heavily abuse it, or downvote people they don't like and their threads get burried?

I think that would creative a heavily negative atmosphere, it may be fine with massive communities, but this community is very small.

Say a group of friends don't like you and now your threads are going to constantly be burried
Idea of making it 6/12 month is because some people would prefer to buy 1 month of a time. That's the point. If people want 1 month at a time, play competitions. If you want months in bulk, buy em. It's a compromise between what the rule is now and reinstating VIP fully.

Like/dislike wouldn't be for individual threads, it'd be for individual posts within threads.

There is no rule in place now? It's the staffs decision to not sell VIP for whatever delusional reason.

I disagree with a like/dislike system (either over or in conjunction with rep), and would strongly disagree with it if it mean you could bury peoples posts or if it in any way modified the post structure (i.e oldest first) really.

Rise of staff skype chats a steady decline of staff posting (even in their own forums) is NOT just a coincidence. Having staff members on skype for easy contact is fine but group conversations are not. Pls pls pls give encouragement to staff members that are supposed to be in support of habbox and all of it's sister sites (te forum especially) to make somewhat engaging posts that aren't just in-jokes written in the span forum. It is a community and should work as one.

As for debates please don't remove them. Better rules and better topics. I don't know how popular they would be if it got too strict but the straw manning and lack of actual evidence shrouded by long paragraphs of waffle is what bores me about debates on politics and such. Have some debates that aren't so easily tipped to one side and reward more consistently those that are willing to debate on something they don't necessarily believe just to provide some substance to the discussions. Disagree with having debates in discuss anything because those always devolve into shouting matches and it's usually a group of people calling a smaller group or individual an idiot because of what they're posting. There's an Aristotle quote somewhere about entertaining a thought without accepting it that can apply here.

I'd love if each mod was tasked with posting 1 thread per month in each of their designated subforums that promotes discussion. Easily achievable I think.

We already have what is essentially an up vote/like system and it leads to so much bandwagoning it's tragic. I'd rather have it removed and have people think for themselves but I guess that's too idealistic. Yeah what the heck, bring in a like system, it's too late for the personality merge of the entire forum to turn back now anyway.

I agree that the Skype chats has made posting on the decline because it really has. The easy access to talk to other people and rather than discussing in their own forum has really had its toll.

As for debates I feel like Dan should be here to think of a new ish system and rules as he is the leader?

When myself and Phil were discussing brining back staff posting I did also bring up a target that all moderators should hit posting wise but I don't think he agreed with me :S and it was swept under the rug

If we were to do that all moderators would see all post reports of all sections, not just the 2 they moderate. That leads to us having to give all moderators access to the moderator control panel which then leads to the super moderator position becoming a bit pointless so basically brining back the global moderators, which in my opinion i don't really like

    Have you looked at it?

If you've looked at it, I don't even need to explain.

    1) The cart section should match the background, it doesn't, it's using the default white background etc which is completely out of place with the skin
    2) The images aren't transparent, which looks fine on normal skins as they all have white backgrounds, but not on a dark blackground
    3) The shop icon has the same issue, white background when it should be black
    4) The example VIP the same, it should be transparent and it shouldn't be stretching.

Why give examples of the other VIP (in text) then a picture of Remembrance Day VIP?

    1) Sorted
    2) The images were intended to be that way
    3) Sorted
    4) No image was supplied to me so I took a screenshot and uploaded that, and yes @David; it is from a mac
    5) None of the examples are in text format
