I'm going to keep taking suggestions for a few more days and then we'll have to start eliminating some of the films.

Didn't want to flood the list with just one persons suggestions because then it would have skewed the genres to the ones that person likes whereas i'm trying to get a variety in here.

But anyway.. has Harry Brown been suggested? That's a brilliant film.
Haha you're probably right, but sometimes the imdb top movies are all films which people have already heard of, this way we get some obscure films popping up. Added Harry Brown as well.

The Fifth Estate. Don't even know why I'm suggesting cos I couldn't stand that film. No wait I was enjoying the plot but Benedict Cumberbatch's accent was making me feel a little queasy...
Side Effects (might be Side Effect idk). I went through the whole thing not being particularly impressed but then I got to the end and realised I'd actually enjoyed it quite a lot.
Four Lions? Never seen it, but I've been told by countless people it's good.
    Bait. Shark film lol
The Cake Eaters. Never seen this film but it's apparently about a teenager with Friedreich's Ataxia and how it affects not only the sufferer but everyone around them. Thought it would be interesting to see after @buttons;'s push for Ataxia UK. I know it's got Kristen Stewart in but most reviews seem to say she offered an extremely good performance and was nothing like Bella Swan in the Twilight saga.
    The Double (2013, not 2011)
Young Victoria. Probably crap in the minds of most habboxforum members but I loved this film.
    The Rocky Horror Picture Show
    The Pianist (please omg)
The Pretty One. Romantic Comedy but the ideas the film was based on really got me thinking too.

I know the list is quite long but I thought I'd try and offer some variety. I'm not really very good at comedy though. I can only do TV show comedy.
Oh yeah also idk if any of these have been suggested before sorry

well ive seen trailers and it seems to be about a relationship with her teacher or something, so not really anything to do with her disorder i dont think but pretty cool to see it in a film

there's a japanese drama called 1 litre of tears based on a real life girls battle with spinocerebellar ataxia. honestly made me cry in EVERY episode and this was before we'd even heard of ataxia

    oh really

one of the most useful reviews i read was
This 2007 indie movie would have vanished without trace were it not for the fact that the new it girl du jour, Kristen Stewart, is in it. She is featured as Georgia, a young girl with Friedreich's Ataxia, a rare disease for which there is currently no cure. The main symptoms are those of apparently being drunk, ie one slurs, stumbles and falls, and tragically the illness spells an early death and zero social life.

Set in rural America, the story centres around Georgia's determination to live a proper life and get a decent bite from life's apple. To this end, she press-gangs a local boy, Beagle, into sleeping with her.

But 'The Cake Eaters' is so much more than a young romance. To me, in its own modest, quiet way, the film was an insight into the struggles, triumphs and mysteries of life itself.

Also, K Stew's performance was stunning. At first, especially seeing her lacklustre stint in 'New moon' and 'Eclipse', she appeared almost vapid, and not trying. However, her quiet and compelling performance here grows on you. For that matter, so do her gorgeous, elfin looks.

By the way: in spite of the title, there is no reference to the eating of cakes.
