I will probably get lots of people take a dislike towards me after this, but it really isn't that accurate as a simulator. For something to pass the time when you have a few hours it's not too bad though, I really don't understand what is so special about the multi character thing?

What multi character thing and what are you on about in terms of accurate? What are you wanting/expecting?

I'm learning to fly and in terms of scenery(and available addons) and realism regarding how the plane behaves in flight it all feels so wrong. Its Christmas and I'm a little drunk so I'll make a more valid Point when I'm sober

Can we just have a 64 bit release and be done with it?
If they try and do anything that's like a game then they will lose the support of the flight sim community

64 bit would solve so many problems. Even if addons do need to be re-created for it to work but that would solve all of the out of memory issues for a lot of people. X-PLANE is 64-bit and does look quite interesting but we just need to get the FSX devs to start developing for that and it would have some true potential.

I know Lockheed Martin are planning on a 64bit version of Prepar3d but the whole EULA is complex as it's not an entertainment product.

OK here it goes... Before I started training for my license (NPPL hopefully CPL with IR one day), I used FSX and it was 'good' because I didn't know of anything better. Although most the things I dislike can be changed with addons, I have found more realistic addons for X-Plane. For example, in FSX: How the aircraft respond in flight, it is all too slow or too sharp and the control surfaces don't respond how they are intended to, well at least not in any A320 family or PA28/Cessna152. Also, the cloud formations along with the weather and its effect on the aircraft is so unrealistic. I've got through 300+ GB of scenery files and aircraft addons and whatever else for FSX, but nothing really feels right.

It is something that is so hard to explain unless you have piloted an aircraft before, but there are so many little inaccuracies and things that shouldn't behave how they do.

No what you said makes sense, I was just wondering what you meant by it. But yeah both FSX and X-Plane are not perfect. X-Plane uses a different method on calculating on how it should perform than FSX does. But if you want to be flying IFR in airliners and so on then at this minute FSX is the better platform for that even if there many tweaks, addons you need to get to make it a good, smooth running simulator.

I've never used X-PLANE but maybe one day in the future when PMDG and other major devs from the FSX start moving over to it.

I haven't done as many IFR flights unfortunately. I used to when I was obsessed with Airbus, but after paying for 5x 1 hour experiences on a category D A320 simulator I decided to start training for the license which limits me to VFR so I have no real use for IFR now, unless of course, I get lost Saying that, you could always do VFR in a Jet

I've used prepared 3D before at an Emirates Aviation Experience sim and that seemed to have potential so that might be my next toy if I get round to it.

I'm surprised more developers haven't moved to X-Plane already, but like all good things, it takes time.

I fly on VATSIM and mainly British Airways so it's always pretty much IFR. I have no huge interesting in VFR really. The reason devs may be taking longer is that the main market for a lot of the flight sim community as always been Microsoft Flight Simulator, whether it's FS2004 or FSX. Now with most people running FSX which is why you see people like PMDG, Aerosoft and other companies only releasing their products to that. Although they have been looking at getting their products into the other platforms but it's no 5 min job.

Anyway, here's a screenshot from before:
