    no they wouldn't?

they don't have to be in charge of manually adding games or whatever, just a dedicated role to ensure that there are actual arcade tournaments done on a regular basis like scottish did without admin, instead of a one-off thing done by someone who is not dedicated to the role.

and maybe even finding some new games to get those with admin to add, and whatever else

There's really no point to official debates other than offering prizes. Member debates have been generally more popular because they're more diverse. All of dan's debates fall into 2 categories:

    - Debates with a loaded premise which only serves as yet another vehicle for Dan's political agenda
    - Pointless fluff you can't even have a debate about so that Dan isn't being so blatant about the political agenda bit.

replacing dan would be job 1

and the arcade manager wouldn't need anything, they'd wait in line patiently for the only guy who has any access at all to do it for him

That could work but eventually you don't want to wait & wait for things to get done so you want to do it yourself. There is no point in even introducing the role itself if you are going to have no perms, what are you going to do in the staff forum and anyone can do it without a bit of text in their user title

1 of the major reasons why I don't like debates is because of the politic stuff. I hate it

anyone can host events advertising habbox as well without a bit of text in their user title, but the role exists

I think you're missing the point

that wasn't an actual invitation for me to start hosting events for habbox at my own will...

Well no one is stopping you really. habbox needs more events. No one is stopping you from hosting arcade tournaments and suggesting more games for admins to add but its just not going to be an official role.

Debates and the arcade run themselves, they do not require managers

All these debates will run for 3 weeks.
2 "official" debates currently open, both from November so should have been closed weeks and weeks ago. One has 7 replies, the other 12. There has not been a debate winner announced since 2013, and realistically my point from 2008 still stands with regards to the (lack of) need for a debates forum:
