Achievements aren't coming back EVER.

you brought a manifestation of the intended version in for staff members and offered the incentive of a christmas tree icon for those that participated in the christmas themed ones. don't claim to be against an idea if you're going to support it in the same breath and sing its praises when it works as intended. you are the one who mismanaged achievements and completely altered the vision (based on constraints of a forum plugin admittedly, although a plugin isn't even necessary!) and ruined the public perception of the system.

Yes but that was on a much smaller scale. I'm not bringing the old system back and I'm not going to try and create a new one either.

mike has said he is working on the system himself. don't shoot down an idea that you support when it works if somebody else is willing to pick up your slack and do the legwork needed to make it work on a larger scale.

i have found that without other trivial pressures people can be much more productive with their ideas. it might take months, but at least somebody is working on something.

Today is the first time we've even heard of him working on one. He's not spoken to Sho about it either so I don't know how he expects it to go forward.

It's already been made clear that general mgmt have no interest in trying again so my plan was to create one then post a feedback thread about it where I lay out how it would look (to users) and work behind the scenes. I currently have 55 tasks.
