Saying no to food is the hardest part

I don't know if it's been said, as I didn't really read much here. But an absolute god send for losing weight is green tea.
Not only does it suppress hunger, in an similar way to how a cigarette does if you can relate, but it speeds up your metabolism. You might not like it initially, but stick with it. You will notice a difference rather quickly.
Cane that ****.
by your OP you can see that you know what you need to do, just eat healthy and exercise, it really is that simple.
also 10 pounds in a month is super unhealthy unless you're overweight.
edit: like louder said, green tea is fabulous for weight loss and very good for you. apples, broccoli, onions (most vegetables in general) are good for weight loss. i find hunger is less about calories and more about nutrients, so make sure your meals are packed with vegetables. you can eat as many of them as you want and still lose weight.

If you're always tempted by food then fight the urge by drinking water instead, it takes away the desire for food. Although I don't know if I could say no to a turnover… Set yourself goals in the gym and see how much weight it takes off, rather than setting weight goals but not really knowing how hard you're meant to work in order to achieve that. I.e if you dedicate 20 minutes of your gym time to the bike, the rowing machine or one of the many cardio machines, see how far/how many calories you can burn in that specific time. Or alternatively, how long it takes you to do 3 miles or whatever.
Challenges are far more fun than targets.
