Be careful what you wish for!
at first when i first joined i legit thought if you werent vip all your posts need to be approved
It's possible.Hey guys,
Obviously this is in place to stop spambots from posting all over the forum and there hasn't been any in quite a while so I do think the current system is effective in that situation, however, I do agree with you all.
At the moment I believe it is only 1 post that needs to be approved which I think is fine. The problem is when the user posts multiple times before their first post is approved because then every single one needs to be done rather than just the first. I would much much prefer a captcha on the first few posts if this were possible? @Chippiewill;
Update: It's enabled but each forum will need to be checked for the usergroup permissions on each forum has:
Will need to be set to "Yes" rather than "No". If you want them to see the captcha instead of waiting for moderation approval. I would do it right now but I'm in work and don't have a lot of time at the minute. Might do it later if it hasn't been done.Follow Forum Moderation Rules
If no, posts are always placed into moderation queue

Personally I'm not a fan of switching to captcha's as they can be automated just as much as the registration captcha, we may as well just disable it altogether - it also does nothing against people who manually post spam/advertising.
People probably don't remember but spam-posts at around 2am-6am used to be really prolific and this is why post approving was enabled to begin with.
