@Judas; why must this political correctness/the constant looking for offence card always be pulled out. all i did was state a statistical truth. it's so tiring.

because it is an offensive stereotype. there was literally no need for you to say anything about his sexual orientation, it has nothing to do with it. he has been notoriously promiscuous for years - not to mention a heavy drug user - yet you were "shocked" because he's a straight man. cool of you to ignore my points as well. people just cry "oh political correctness!" to excuse their ignorance. don't.

why's it offensive and offensive to whom exactly? its a statistical truth. it is unusual of the straight population as a whole to have HIV whereas the statistical probability of a gay person to have HIV is much much higher hence why many of the facebook/awareness campaigns are aimed at gay people.

all i made was an observation that many people when they think of celebrities with HIV usually think of rock hudson, freddie mercury who were gay in the 80s. sheesh.

you know exactly why. it's a horrible label to have and people still use it to try and justify their hatred.

unusual? it's like 60% of those with HIV that are gay. this exchange alone shows why people in general need to be educated more.

@Judas; what's a horrible label to have? i think you're fearing a 'backlash' when there really is none. nobody on this forum or anyone i know looks down on those with HIV.

indeed, and given gay people are only like 5% of the population you can see why it is associated more (and rightly statistically) with MSM.

you really think that's applicable for society as a whole? if you're honestly denying that there's any negative stigma attached to hiv/aids then i'll just leave you in your wilful ignorance

a comment on habboxforum isn't society.

as it happens though, i don't sense any hatred towards people with HIV in british society at all. that's my own observation. i know of distant family stories from years ago (in the late 80s and 90s) regarding gay family members with HIV stigma but that was decades ago. attitudes have changed enormously towards this disease.

you literally just used comments from users on this forum to try and tell me no one looks down on it. i know your opinion doesn't represent society but doesn't mean i can't call out something i think is wrong when i see it.

that's wonderful but i'm fairly sure i was making a point about negative stigma, not hatred. do you have trouble with comprehension?

i've already explained why, i don't feel like going around in circles with you because you're either taking the piss or you're just a very small minded individual lol.

i know you're gay. doesn't mean you can't be ignorant.

    good night now
