    @FlyingJesus;

    Of course, but we can make an educated estimation using the facts. And the facts are that Europe wouldn't stop trading with us, the WTO wouldn't allow it even if they tried and we'd be in a similar position to Norway and Switzerland with a number of options open to us. It all reminds me of the Euro debate back in 2000 when the politicians and corporations were telling us if we didn't join the Euro then we'd face uncertain economic risks to the sky falling in: anyone with an ounce of sense about global affairs could look at those arguments and call it out. As it happens we didn't join and we outperformed the Eurozone and still do.

    Sir Stuart Rose, leader of your campaign to remain in the EU, disagrees.

    ‘Nothing is going to happen if we come out of Europe in the first five years, probably. There will be absolutely no change.’

    See below.

    “Nothing is going to happen if we come out of Europe in the first five years, probably. There will be absolutely no change. Then, if you look back ten years later, there will have been some change, and if you look back 15 years later there will have been some.

    It’s not until you get to 20 years later that there’s probably going to be some movement if we came out which says ‘Please can we come back into Europe again’”.

    @snr;

    Hahahahaha that's hiliarious. What does he mean like those 'isolated' Norweigans who the politicians have been desperate to get them in yet the polls are something like 60% against and 19% for over there in one of the richest European countries? Or tiny Iceland which has dropped any bids for European Union membership?

    If the question were being asked for us to join the EU now, it wouldn't stand a hope in hell. Once we're out we're out which is why they're scared. It's only tinpot countries in the former Eastern bloc who continue to join along with southern European countries because of all the wads of cash thrown at them and their political classes. Besides in 20 years time if the EU is still there, it will be headed for or in a political union... do you or Rose really believe Britain would ever join a federal European superstate?

    But still, i'm glad Rose is dispelling the myth peddled by his side which is that the sky would fall in if we left.

    I don't understand why you keep looking at polls when they mean nothing right now, dates have not even been announced. Deals have not even been announced. Do you not understand that in the month before the referendum, interested groups bombard people with TV ads, radio ads, leaflets full of information - all of this is when people really make up their mind.

    Looking at polls right now and celebrating is a waste of time.

    I'm not talking about British polling now I am talking about polling relating to a country - wealthy Norway - which isn't a member of the European Union but whose politicians have been trying for years to get them in yet the polls consistently show the Norwegians are very happy outside which dispels Sir Stuart Rose's imagination that somehow wealthy Britain would want to join an organisation that has millions coming across its borders with no controls and a currency and economy that is in permanent decline. If Norway, Iceland and Switzerland are happy outside then Britain which is a far bigger economic power would be even happier.

    You do realise though even if we voted to stay this time we'd have to leave within 20 or so years as eventual political union nears, do you not?

    Haven't answered any of my questions.

    His quote, from the Spectator, is pretty clear. The sky won't fall in if we leave.... which is what you and @snr; constantly attempt to portray.

    Do you agree with the leader of your campaign that we won't all be unemployed and a third world economy the day after we've left?

    Don't think we've ever said that's what would happen? Unless you can quote us? What we've said is that we would be worse off than what we are now.

    All of you have claimed that millions of jobs rely on us being in the EU when the actual reality is that millions of jobs depend on our trade with Europe. As trade with Europe is separate to membership of the European Union, the mixing up of these two issues is purposely intended by your side to frighten people into remaining within the EU. You've done it in past debates on the topic of EU membership as have others.

Staying in the EU creates up to 1 million jobs in UK.
    That is just false and even Sir Stuart Rose knows it.

    If I remember correctly, I got my figures for that statement from the BBC. Actually the whole sentence was from the BBC but just paraphrased.
