I have been meaning to ask, do they overlap completely in the sense that I am missing out on a month of my donator? Or does the donator pause? And does the same rule apply for Charity VIP, if I buy a couple of months I would assume they add up?

Yeah they overlap nothing pauses, its stupid but theres not really anything you can do but contact me if you buy vip but already had vip going otherwise they would overlap
