i'm not against marriage and i don't really understand those that are simply for it's practicalities and financial security

my partner can get **** if he thinks we are having kids and he can suddenly die and leave me with them without marrying me first, i need to have access to that finance and the assets (or vice versa). i'd like to get married at 30-33.

I have nothing against marriage but personally I don't see the point in it. You don't need to put a ring on someones finger to prove your love for them. If things don't work out then that's just another story. My view may change in the future but marriage isn't for everyone
