I guess someone in upper management would have to decide whether to give it to news, or news+content. And I guess they need to know if a new widget can be made? And a new static page if that is deemed a good idea.
I have no idea what's actually happening with this atm but i do have an invisible category open that me and hayden were testing on earlier incase we do decide to do it like that until we get something better.
but yes what kardan said basically, will be discussing it later once we've collated more ideas
lol I think it's hard to appreciate just how much admin crap there is with every management role. All sorts of little jobs that need doing that people take for granted because they're done so efficiently by said managers behind the scenes.
I am a bit confused about your point of exposure though. With a widget, it wouldn't matter whether the department was news or content because the exposure is there. Content isn't usually posted front page as it's usually reserved for news so any front page coverage would automatically be a plus even if it was pushed down. Just to link above, content is one of those behind the scenes departments that rarely get any recognition (and taken for granted even though the site would be less 'full' without it) but I am not convinced that it would revitalise the department as pasta suggests it would. The hope that they would shift into other areas of content seems naive, at best.
Ultimately, however, I do not think it matters if the team is to be a subteam within a department as it is likely to have its own system of working that would invalidate any argument about writing styles, for example. A forum or a subforum in the Habbo section could provide a link between the Habbox site and the forum that has been lacking so I would support that move too.
I'm not sure, stop making me answer stuff I'm ill!
Maybe they can post on the forum asking about it, and someone can direct them to that guide?
Yea the static page would make sence really instead of people having to search for stuff etc, cause i'm assuming in a lot of cases they won't know. They could probably search dates to get a rough idea where to look on the static page at least though as they will probably have a rough idea of when it was released

O sorry if someone has already posted this but what about a thread on hxf somewhere that's locked but it auto edits the links to each new one into it saying what the badge is or whatever and the date too , (or we can edit it in instead ourselves as soon as we can get it) and then have a link on the main page that links to it as a page instead to link between all the articles for when they come off the pages
Ultimately if news or content had it, I'd still want it as a widget and a page (whether that's a news sub-category with links, or a new link on the top of the nav).lol I think it's hard to appreciate just how much admin crap there is with every management role. All sorts of little jobs that need doing that people take for granted because they're done so efficiently by said managers behind the scenes.

I'm not bothered if news gets it, or if content gets it, or if news+content gets it in the end, I'm just bothered that people are saying it's not content![]()
I'm sure they're not saying it's not content in the broad sense of the term (both departments used to have agm (content), for example), just fighting their corner as to why it would suit better for the news department and not the content department. Yes, a widget and a link on the navigator would be the essential exposure needed. To hide it away in a subcategory would be to consign it to dust before it'd even started imo.
News does not equate to guides, it should be the Content Department's job. News means current affairs, come on. It needs serious work and if you think guides should be news, I think you should open a dictionary.
News needs way more things to work on than this. I am fully against the news department doing this because it simply makes no sense.
