You'd have to look through thousands of files and I have used Limewire and never have I come across a file that is available for download and is also legal.
That's an assumption I don't want to make because there is a chance that we would be incorrect. I know it's likely, but we can't be certain so unless they admit it I don't think people should pass comment on it.
Regardless of that, this thread is supposed to be about improving the apparent lack of variety HabboxLive has to it's music, I don't see why the source of their music became part of the argument? If people couldn't download this music free and illegally (which almost everyone does) then the variety would be even less anyway...

If it is sucky as you say then please use the request line on www.habboxlive.com and request a song. Music we play is based on upon our taste and listeners' taste so for example if MCR is requested then we will play it.

I, myself am not an avid fan of rock, infact I prefer Dance and RnB to be perfectly honest but as I have a request line full of requests for popular tunes - then I will play them.

May I ask, what music people like. So we can get a rough idea, I know there was a poll on Habbox.com / Habboxlive.com some time ago but you seem to be complaining there is not enough variety. Lets sort this out now.
I would think a good way of getting popular song ideas would be from places that professional play music, like Radio 1 and Music TV channels. I myself don't find it a big problem and I don't listen alot, but when I do most of the songs aren't my taste.

I think the disabling for 31 days is a bit odd. I think disabling for a session online is a bit more useful or the option to disable completely, but that is hard to do as far as expiring cookies go. Maybe the option to enable it would be better?

We were talking about how we can add more variety to the music we play on HabboxLive. The quality of music or however it may be downloaded is not part of the "argument".

    So, yet again, I ask:

    • What genre of music do YOU want to hear more of on HabboxLive ?

Well we may be expected to talk about the factor of the low variety of music, but the quality should be looked at also. Then again, the only bad quality music that I heard on HabboxLive came from the former DJ that I mentioned.
Back when it was run by others, when the application forms were released and applications were welcomed - there would always be a question about their music, whether it is downloaded legally or not.
Anyway, limewire produces music for download that is not legal through the program. Limewire is one of the least legal programs that you can use to download music and so, the music downloads should be paid for and downloaded legally, using programs like iTunes (DOWNLOADED via iTunes, not just hosted).

Music TV channels consist of Dance, RnB, Rock Music. Examples:
    www.thebox.co.uk/playlist.asp
    www.thehits-tv.co.uk/playlist.asp
    www.smashhits-tv.co.uk/playlist.asp

But as far as i'm aware we already play a lot of this music.

Genre is hard to work around really. Maybe the problem is with the variety, there should be more of one genre than of another. You could do RnB half hours or something to that extent, maybe?

EDIT: That's probably down to personal taste though and those channels do offer at random times different choices of music.

I think Habbox Radio needs a variety of DJs that have a selection of songs they like, and then include in their slot that they are playing a certain genre of music. Like Radio 1, in the morning in they have a mixture of mainily pop, rock etc and at night club. But instead of this, because you normally work in an hourly basis, have it down to the DJ playing around with a certain genre. I probably rambled and amde little sense, tell me if it didn't.

Whether music is downloaded legally/illegally is not an issue. If you want to download via iTunes then that's your choice really. The low quality of music could be because we have a 32 Kbps stream, however it is listenable and considering stations like Radio 1, Galaxy & Kiss all stream at 32-64 Kbps, and the music quality of their streams are fine then I can't really see the issue.

I agree with you. However, RnB zones or hours would have to be looked in to - due to people tuning in to hear Rock/Indie.

PM Adzeh, and offer it as a suggestion though.

All of the DJs on HabboxLive that I have listened to never had such a bad quality of music. It's not down to the Stream or anything else other than the downloading program.

Just seen your edit, so making a fresh point. Thanks by the way for your constructive suggestions.

I see what you mean, I listen to Radio 1 quite a lot but find they are too rock based as you will normally hear The Klaxons or The Holloways played a few times during the day.

Taking on board your comments about variety of music though...
How do I word this ...

Themed shows would probably work but we also have to look at the listener stats. If they drop it means that the majority of people are not liking what they are hearing and therefore tuning out.

I'm sure most Djs would love to play rock all hour or rnb whatever their taste but we play the music we get the most requests for.

Tell us how to vary the music - is there on genre of music that is lacking on HabboxLive?
