Lets take for instance Black Eyed Peas. When they reformed the band with Fergie (The Female!).. The 6th single " Dont Lie " came out in Summer 2005. She sang great on the actual CD track but she wasn't very good live.

When " My Humps " broadcasted on the music channels in October, I thought that Fergie has a great voice. When she peformed on CDUK and Record Of The Year, I thought she didnt do so well.

    So the whole concept is..

What artists are best at. Live or CD?

I think the best live performance by a band that I have seen in terms that they got the audience involved and really gets them going, sounding great, and entertaining, was Evanescence a few years ago. Definatly not my favorite band, not even close. But Amy Lee dressed up in a butterfly outfit, really got the crowd going, and sounded great. She didnt stall songs or anything like a lot of bands do now, they were really good live.

Other good live performances: Godsmack (accoustic), REM, and Staind. A few more, but those stand out.

Some not-so-great ones: Trapt, and Hoobastank (a few years ago when they were good).
