Power mining is mining some ore that respawns fast (iron, tin, etc, but iron is the best as it gives more xp), then when your inventory is full, you drop it all, then mine again, drop it, etc etc. Fast xp.

If you mine in the right places I.E. Dwarven mine, it can take just as long to bank than it would to drop all the ores.

But mining iron or mining coal aren't both as fast.
